sketcher, drew a series of six views of the public buildings of Adelaide which were engraved, printed and published by Henry Cooper Jervis in 1841-42. These 'first rate engravings’, which included Bank of South Australia Adelaide and Queens Theatre Adelaide South Australia , were advertised in the Adelaide Examiner of 30 December 1841 as available from the City Engraving & Painting Offices opposite the Royal Oak Hotel in Hindley Street at 1s each. Wilson and Borrow have identified C.W.C. as C.W. Calvert, supposing him to be related to the engraver Samuel Calvert and his brother William. Alison Carroll has noted, however, that William did not arrive at Adelaide until 1843 and Samuel five years later.
