Keith Indich, Noongar artist, was born at the Moore River Settlement in southwest Western Australia in 1934, and spent part of his childhood at the Carrolup Native Settlement, near Katanning. Indich was one of the Carrolup children artists who created paintings and drawings under the guidance of Noel White, the school principal at Carrolup between 1945 and 1951. Indich’s works from this time were later placed in the collection of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Berndt Museum of Anthropology and the Picker Gallery, Colgate University, New York. Exhibitions have included 'Koorah Coolingah (Children Long Ago)’ at the Katanning Arts Centre and the Western Australian Museum in Perth (2006), and 'South West Central: Indigenous art from south Western Australia 1833-2002’ at the Art Gallery of Western Australia (2003). The catalogue for the latter exhibition states that Indich lived and worked in Carnamah and New Norcia, and died in 1974 in Moora (Western Australia). In 2009 Indich’s work was included in the Brisbane Powerhouse exhibition 'The Legacy of Koorah Coolingah (The Legend of Children Long Ago)’.
