Kunjen weaver, Margaret Yam is from the Kowanyama region on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula. Her large open-woven rectangular bags known as "Umbins" are made from the leaves of cabbage palms and natural dyes and were traditionally used for collecting and processing yams, corms, seeds and fruits.
