Ballarat Punch of 7 December 1867, 684, reproduced P’s cartoon of a draper’s shop hung with crinoline petticoats with patriotic messages crudely painted on them, a parody of the official decorations erected to welcome Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, to the city (good, acc. J. Peers).
