sketcher, drew an extremely accomplished pencil sketch dated March 1824 of Bathurst Waterfalls New South Wales – Discovered in the Year 1818 by Lieut. Oxley (ML), which seems to have been copied from Bathurst Falls, Apsley River , an engraving published in John Oxley’s Journal of Two Expeditions into the Interior of Australia (London 1820) after a drawing by Major James Taylor from a sketch by George William Evans . Originality did not have a high priority with early colonial artists.
