DAAO’s use of your personal information
is subject to this policy and to the Privacy and Personal Information
Protection Act (NSW) 1998 (“Act”).
The personal details which you supply to DAAO on applying for membership,
such as your name, email or mailing address and, in the case of peer
reviewers, professional details, will only be used for the purposes
for which you provide them. We will not subscribe you to any mailing
list without your consent.
When you use the DAAO, we record information which identifies, for each page accessed on DAAO, the internet protocol address of the machine which accessed it, the date and time of visit to the site, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, the previous site visited, the type of browser used and operating system.
To improve the services provided by DAAO, we extract and publish aggregated information about usage patterns from these records. DAAO will not disclose or publish information which identifies individual machines, or potentially identifies sub-groupings of addresses, without consent.
DAAO reserves the right to make disclosures
to relevant authorities where the use of the DAAO website raises a suspicion
that an offence is being, or has been, committed.
In the unlikely event of an investigation, DAAO will provide access
to data to any law enforcement agency that may exercise a warrant to
inspect our logs.
External sites that are linked to or from the DAAO website are generally
not under our control or responsibility and you are advised to review
their privacy statements.
