1 Udny (Dr) Current Dr Udny was a surgeon who visited Launceston, Van Diemen's Land in 1843. While there he advertised a calotype camera for sale in the Launceston Examiner. No evidence has yet been found that Udny used it though it's likely he did.
1 Ugle, Primus Current Bibbulmun/Noongar painter whose work was included in 'From Little Things Big Things Grow: Gather round people, I'll tell you a story' (2004) at the National Gallery of Australia.
1 Ullathorne, Mary Emma Current Francis Philomena Ullathorne was a member of the English Congregation of the Third Order of St Dominic who came to North Adelaide in 1883. Widely recognised for her talent in illumination, she was also a particularly creative and skilful embroiderer.
1 Umbidong, Emantura Current A health worker in the Mutitjulu community at Uluru, in her spare time Emantura paints her Grandmother's country at Docker River and practices wood carving.
1 Underwood, Charlotte Current Sketches by Charlotte Underwood were among a collection of drawings and documents relating to the Underwood and Want families (1830 50) auctioned in October 1986.
1 Ungar, Thora Current 20th century painter, lithographer, cartoonist and illustrator, worked for the Australian Women's Weekly during WWII. Original society cartoon drawn for the Bulletin (ML), possibly never published.

1 Unsworth, Ken Current Sculptor, installation and performance artist,Unsworth was born in 1931 in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond. Despite growing up as a self-described typical Melbourne kid who loved football, trams and a beer, Unsworth has become one of Australia's most significant contemporary artists.
1 Upton, Amanda Current Amanda Upton is a contemporary Queensland and Sydney painter, cartoonist and illustrator whose work has appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald. She is also a member of the Australian Black and White Artists' Club.
1 Upton, John A. Current John A. Upton was a professional painter and photographic colourist of the late 19th Century. Upton studied at the Royal Melbourne Technical College and the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and his work is held in the Art Gallery of South Australia.
1 Urie, James Current James Urie, of the firm Ferguson, Urie & Lyon, produced stained glass windows and painted transparencies on glass for a 30 year period in the late 19th century. Examples of his work can be found in churches throughout Victoria.
1 Urquhart, Thomas Current Thomas Urquhart was a colonial era Victorian caricaturist, army officer(?) and remittance man(?). He was exiled to Australia after he married Mary Norrie. His hobby was drawing and he drew comical caricatures of the local residents which were framed and given to them. Urquhart died aged 69 years.
1 Ussher, Kathleen Current Ussher was an early 20th century wartime illustrator and author who did voluntary nursing work in Macedonia during the first World War. An acquaintance of Miles Franklin, she published several sketches of her time abroad.
