Winner of the Doug Moran portrait prize in 1988, Dowie is also a recognised illustrator, with work shown in the travelling exhibition, 'Alice 125: A celebration of the world's favourite book', 1990.

painter and illustrator, was born in Adelaide, where she still lives. She has illustrated three books, one for children and two on gardens and romantic Alice drawings in 1990. Won inaugural Doug Moran portrait prize in 1988.
