Narcissus George Arguimbau | [stub] |
watercolourist and naval officer, was born on 18 October 1829 at Port Mahon, Minorca, son of Joseph Arguimbau, an officer in the Royal Navy and subsequently governor of Minorca. N.G. Arguimbau painted H.M.S. Iris in 1857 (ML) when the ship was serving at the Australia Station. By May 1897, when his fifth daughter, Leila Ethel, married Henry Hunter White at St Aidan's Church, Annandale, Arguimbau and his family were living at Cliveden, Annandale, Sydney.
