Painter, lives and works on the Hawkesbury River. In 2005 Reisch received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Fine Arts from the University of Newcastle and in 1992 he received his Master of Art from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. Reisch has also studied at St George Technical College (1972), Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education (1977), Sydney Teacher’s College (1980), Sydney Technical College (1986), City Art Institute (1987) as well as in Italy (1974).
Reisch’s paintings depict images of the Hawkesbury River, NSW. He is deeply concerned with pictorial space and ways of seeing. The difference between the experience of space and the pictorial representation of that space acutely informs his work.
In 2007 Resich had a solo exhibition, titled 'Recent Work’, at Stella Downer Fine Art and in 2005 he had a survey exhibition, titled 'Reference and Notation’', at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery which also toured to Macquarie University Art Gallery. Reisch has also had solo exhibition at James Harvey Gallery, Airspace and Bakehouse Gallery Patonga. Resich has also exhibited in group exhibitions at S.H. Ervin Gallery, The Sydney Gallery School, Casula Powerhouse, Manning Regional Art Gallery, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Grafton Regional Gallery, Mosman Art Gallery, Defiance Gallery, Artarmon Galleries, National Art School and James Harvey Gallery.
Reisch has taught at Meadowbank TAFE (2000 to 2007), University of Newcastle (2005), Brookvale TAFE (2005), K.V.B School of Design (2003), Seaforth TAFE (1999), Hornsby TAFE (1991 to 2003), Goulbourn High School (1986), Riverina Institute of Higher Education (1985) and Corowa High School (1984 to 1985).
Reisch’s work is in many collections, including Hornsby Council, Willoughby Council, Waverley Council, Clayton-Utz Sydney, Australian Catholic University, Bundanon Trust NSW, University of Newcastle, Macquarie University, Hawkesbury Regional Gallery NSW as well as private collections in Australia and overseas.
