etcher, produced prints in the 1930s and ’40s solely for private circulation. Most were erotic and either German expressionist or American 'Ash Can’ in style. In 1988, when the Wallis family home at Hunters Hill and its contents were being sold at auction, the original drawings and 13 etching plates were purchased by Josef Lebovic, who printed a limited edition of 50 from the plates in 1989, which he sold housed in a presentation folio with an introduction by Roger Butler. The plates were then donated to the National Gallery of Australia.
