An Eastern Anmatyerre speaker, Violet Petyarre was born c.1925. Her country is Atnangkere Soakage, and she is associated with the Atneltyeye community. She has an Emu Dreaming in this area which she paints. Like most of the Utopia artists, she began to work with paint and canvas in the summer of 1988-9. Her sisters, Nancy Petyarre and Myrtle Petyarre, also paint occasionally.
