Candy Nelson Nakamarra, who paints for Papunya Tjupi Art Centre in Papunya, is the daughter of Johnny Warangkula Tjupurrula, one of the founders of the desert painting movement, and his wife Gladys Napanangka, one of the first women painters for Papunya Tula Artists.
