First painted on Uta Uta Tjangala's monumental 'Yumari' canvas in 1981 as one of his team of eleven assistants. Commenced painting for Papunya Tula Artists in Kintore in the 1980s influenced by the Balgo art style, having spent his youth at the Catholic mission settlement.
