Gerard H. B. McDonell b. 1 January 1908

  • Architect (Furniture Designer / Cabinetmaker)
McDonell was an architect who designed the house in Gordon (and the dining furniture) that won the 1940 Sulman Award. The 1940 Sulman Award was a turning point in the recognition of domestic modernist architecture in NSW. He was an early member of the reforming Sydney MARS group and later became a lecturer in the School of Design, UNSW.
