James Hesketh Biggs

Also known as Colonel Biggs
  • Artist (Photographer),
  • Artist (Printmaker),
  • Artist (Painter)
Were it not for the coverage his artworks received in the local press, James Hesketh Biggs' artistic practice might not otherwise be known as he did not appear to sign his works. The press coverage was no doubt prompted by the fact that Biggs was regularly awarded prizes at the South Australian Society of Arts exhibitions between 1867 and 1871.
