June Carney was an interior designer, design retailer, illustrator. She is the daughter of the designers and retailers Clive and Edna Carney. Carney also provided the illustrations for Clive Carney's first 1950 book, "Furnishing Art and Practice". She studied at East Sydney Technical College, travelled in the USA and Europe and returned to work in her family's firm Artistry with studios in Sydney and Melbourne.
