Painter and designer. Chauvel 'discovered and developed the art of "panchrocis", a delicate technique of paintings on silks and satins, of which she made lamp shades, trays, tables, handbags, fans, etc.' She was the founder of the Women's Painters' Society and member of the Women's Industrial Arts Society.
