Gibson studied Haldane School of Art, Glasgow, working as a designer Camelon Iron Co., 1887, arr. Australia 1890, worked as a designer Austral Manufacturing Co., Melbourne, Lux Foundry, Melbourne. He played a major role in the Victorian Chamber of Manunfactures.
