Art teacher daughter of the Reverend Charles Nicolay who arrived in 1871 followed by his family in 1878. They had previously lived in South America. The family went to Geraldton to join him where he was chaplain. Albinia married master mariner Joseph Tregonning. She taught at the Roman Catholic School in Geraldton in 1878 specializing in art and music. She married for a second time in 1878 to Henry Edward Kenny, a draper of Geraldton.
