Amarie Bergman concentrates on four points of reference in her minimalist work, complementary in theme and appearance: astrophysics, chemistry, metaphysical literature and architectural site mapping. Her most recent exhibitions in Sydney have involved three of them: H, a walk-in sculpture in the form of the chemical symbol for Hydrogen; The Golden Eternity, an installation related to Jack Kerouac’s The Scripture of the Golden Eternity; and Quadrant Bearing, paintings and drawings formulated from an angle at Sydney Non Objective. In 2012 she presented The Rosy Crucifixion, based on writings by Henry Miller, at ParisCONCRET. As a project editor, her 2013 series of interviews with artists who make reductive / non objective work and are also gallery directors was published in Whitehot Magazine. Bergman presently lives in Perth, Australia.
