sketcher, was the eldest daughter of Rev. Thomas Hassall and Ann, née Marsden. Catherine made a pencil sketch of New Government House, Sydney, probably in 1844 or 1845 (Mitchell Library). She married Robert Culbertson Hope on 12 August 1846 and they had nine sons and two daughters.
