photographer and sketcher, took photos of Aboriginal people when working on Momba Station in outback NSW from 1865 to the 1880s. A drawing of an Aboriginal woman 'from the Darling area’ smoking a pipe and wearing a crinoline frame (cf S. T. Gill ), attributed to Charles Bonney c.1862 [sic], is reproduced in Betty Beavis (ed.), Crazy for Crinoline (self published, 1989), 53. A comprehensive history and wide selection of photographs can be found in Robert Lindsay’s 1983 publication.
