professional photographer, worked as a photographic artist in Auckland, New Zealand, before joining Messrs Freeman & Prout at Sydney in 1867. Holmes started his own business in 1868 at 33 South Head Road, in rooms formerly occupied by Croft Brothers . He was listed in Sydney the following year, but not thereafter.
