Clara Bate (nee Hughes) b.1859 to John and Annie Hughes. John Hughes was farmer who originally resided in the Bathurst region, but later moved to Ginkin. Clara married Frank Picton Bate at 25 and moved to his property, 'Frankfort'. The couple established a guesthouse at 'Frankfort' which was located close to the Jenolan Caves.
