In 1952, the SIDA announced the “Good Design” label. The Sydney Morning Herald reported “The Society proposed to select each month some Australian-made article of furnishing of which the committee approves and hopes by use of the label to stimulate manufacturers to good work and consumers to appreciate good when it is seen.”
