Destiny Deacon is a Melbourne based photographer, mixed media, printer, installation artist, broadcaster, writer and performer. She has been working full-time as a visual artist since the 1990s and has had work exhibited in more than 120 group and solo shows including 'Australian Perspecta’ (1993), 'Tyerabarbowaryaou 2’ (1994), 'True Colours: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Artists Raise the Flag’ (1994), 'Ceremony, Identity and Community’ (1998), 'Beyond the Pale – Contemporary Indigenous Art’ (2000), 'Walk and don’t look blak’ (2004), 'Whacked’ (2007) and 'Gazette’ (2009). Her work is represented in such public collections as the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Queensland Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
