John Clark (ed.) Japanese Exchanges in Art 1850s-1930s (Sydney: Power Publications, 2001), p.237, notes that Ella Du Cane , painter and illustrator, and Florence Du Cane, author of The Flower and Gardens of Japan , 1908 – one of the books illustrated by Ella – were in Japan May-November 1907. There is some speculation they are the daughters of Edmund and Mary Du Cane.
