Evelyn Omeenyo of the Uutaalnganu language group of North Queensland was born in 1944. Omeenyo is a weaver of baskets and dilly bags using native grasses, lawyer cane, pandanus leaves and bora beads. In 2000 Omeenyo was invited to exhibit her works in the Festival of Pacific Arts in New Caledonia.
