painter and découpagist, showed an oil painting, The Ascension of Christ (after Raphael Mengs), at the 1856 Victorian Exhibition of Art and was listed in the catalogue as a resident artist of St David Street, Collingwood. The painting was lent to the 1869 Melbourne Public Library exhibition by Mrs J.G. Franke (mother?), together with F.G.'s Tiger Hunting, On the Nile, Plantation, West Indies and Landscape – four works 'cut in paper’.
