Frederick Sterne

  • Designer (Architect / Interior Architect / Landscape Architect)
Sterne trained in Germany, Prague and Vienna in "civil architecture" and interior design. He arrived in Australia ca.1938 and worked with the architect Leighton Irwin's practice. He began teaching at the Melbourne Technical College in 1947 in architecture, interior design, design and construction. By 1948 he was a full-time lecturer. He initiated the four-year Interior Design Diploma, previously a three-year programme.
