Third annual exhibition of Art Society of NSW: “G.W.T. Chambers, East Maitland, has some creditable water-colours, the best being 193 'Marshes on the Myall River’, the peculiar colouring probably indicating that it represents the appearance of the marshes just before sunrise” (Sydney Morning Herald, 21 March 1883, 11).
