Geoffrey Ricardo, printmaker and sculptor,employs aquatinting the entire plate and using a scraper or burnishing tool to reveal an image, usually a parable of human folly. His exhibition, A dark city narrative (2001), revealed large, complex parables of contemporary city life crammed with incident. Ricardo's works presented a world that was overwhelming and uncontrollable.
