Architectural draughtsman, architect and inventor. Austin designed the invitation card for the opening of the first Federal Parliament in 1901 and as an employee of the Victorian Public Works Department he designed the Latrobe Street courts.
architectural draughtsman, architect and inventor, born 1859, son of George Brougham Austin, died 27 July 1921. Educated Melbourne Church of England Grammar School 1870-71; entered Victorian Public Works Dept 1876; designed Latrobe Street courts; also an inventor of gun-sights and aeroplanes (!).
Exhibited at Victorian Academy of Arts in 1884.
Exhibited at the Victorian Artists Society in 1892.
