Gordon Watt was 24 years old when he and others from Mornington Island danced at the opening of the Sydney Opera House in 1973. He retired from dancing in 1990 and is now the songman leading the younger dancers. His paintings reflect his traditional designs of leg markings.

    Description

    After the Queensland Art Gallery (established in 1895 but in its current premises since 1982) expanded its modern collection and exhibitions into a new building, the Gallery of Modern Art, in 2006, the institution renamed itself as Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, or QAGOMA.
