cartoonist, illustrator, journalist, author, wharfie and socialist, drew cartoons for the Bulletin and other journals c.1950s. Drew cover of Robbing Your Pay Envelope by R. Dixon (President, Commmunist Party of Australia [CPA]), issued by the CPA, Sydney, 1953 (6d). He also contributed straight realist drawings to Overland , which are like Counihan’s but without the fire and individuality, e.g. Waterfront Veterans: Sydney , cover of no.11 (summer 1958).

Mostly he drew for the Tribune newspaper, published in Sydney by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Australia. 53 of his ink, crayon and gouache cartoon drawings for the Tribune 1953-54 and two linocut prints are in State Library of New South Wales Mitchell Library, purchased February 2000. Subjects include Arthur Fadden, the Korean War, Judge Maxwell and Bob Menzies.
