His (very English) oil on canvas, Midday Snooze n.d., was auctioned by Christie’s on 14-15 August 1994, lot 211 (ill.), while the equally European oil on canvas, The Fortune Teller , was offered at Sotheby’s Melbourne on 9 May 2003 (lot 167, 74 × 61 cm, ill., est. $12,000-$16,000). A signed oil on board of two dogs fighting, Love and Strife , was attributed to him when offered at Sotheby’s Fine Australian and European Paintings , Melbourne, 28-29 April 1998, lot 294. He probably illustrated two postcards issued in Colmar, Alsace, in 1901 in aid of the Boers [sic], one showing a nurse comforting a Boer soldier signed 'James Waite’ and the other a nurse paying homage to Louis Botha signed with a 'JW’ monogram.
