Work by Joan includes lots of cut out dolls and dresses, later theatre designs (some done with her sister) and many detailed costume designs of the 1940s. Phyllis painted gouaches in Sydney in the 1940s in an Adrian Feint style. Later she worked as a commercial artist in Hobart, e.g. ads for Bidencopes (sp?) department store in Mercury .
