cartoonist, caricaturist and illustrator, drew political cartoons for the Courier Mail, e.g. Coombes and ASIO 13 May 1983 (included Christine Dixon, not ill.) as well as for the Sydney Sun, but now works for Fairfax Press in Sydney working mainly on the Sydney Morning Herald. He lives at Elizabeth Bay. In 1992 he won the Stanley for best caricaturist. His 'British election '97’, published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 3 May 1997, and 'Peter Costello – Budget '97’ of July 1997, were exhibited in Bringing the House Down: 12 Months of Australian Political Humour (Canberra: National Museum of Australia/ Old Parliament House exhibition, 1997), cats 20, 22. He had four caricatures – Jonathan Shier, Kevin Gosper and daughter, Michael Knight, and Murdoch and Packer together – in Bringing the House Down 2001.
As well as drawing cartoons and caricatures, Shakespeare models figure sculptures for use in photo illustrations.
