artist, was listed as such in Low’s Sydney Directory for 1844 when living in Cumberland Street. He may be J. Sheppard , as well as the 'T. Sheppard’ recorded as painting a view of Baily’s statue of Governor Bourke in 1842 (the year the statue was unveiled in Sydney).
