cartoonist and comic strip artist, drew his first cartoons for Man. This was followed by 21 years with the Sydney Sun, where he drew the comic strips Gus, Peter and Penny and Jeremy Winkle (1971-76). He left Fairfax in 1976 in order to freelance, but returned four years later. He joined News Ltd as art director in 1982. A member of the Black and White Artists’ Club, he was president in 1984-87 and elected a life member in 1991.
