Historian, curator, teacher, and writer Juliette Peers who is based in Ballarat and is published in Australia, the UK, and North America began freelance curatorial work and art writing in 1986, and was Senior Lecturer in design history at RMIT 1994–2019. Her interests span classical art history and popular culture, feminism, and politics, and encompasses film, literature, dance, celebrities, fandoms, royalty, statues, public monuments, and dolls. Her curatorships, like 'Completing the Picture: Women Artists and the Heidelberg Era’ and others, have been commissioned by the AGNSW, QAGOMA, and Heide MoMA. Her feminist art advocacy involves actively expanding and maintaining archives and foundations related to women’s art, such as the Women’s Art Register, Sheila Foundation for Women in the arts and the 'Dictionary of Women Artists.’ In her recent roles, Juliette has been an Editorial Board Member for Artlink Magazine since May 2022 where she had been an editorial consultant and Victorian reviews editor for Artlink since 1994.
