Photographer, born Budapest, Hungary, has been exhibiting her photographs in Australia since 1966. A major survey of her work, Under Another Sky, Juno Gemes Photography 1968-1988 , was shown at Budapest in 1988 and at Paris in 1989. She specialises in photographs of Aboriginal Australians. Her portrait Anna Couani 1992 (gelatin silver, NLA P4997/6) was in the 1995 National Women’s Art Exhibition at the NLA, Beyond the Picket Fence .
