Self taught Yamagi painter Kunda-Beamo was a finalist in the 2005 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards with his synthetic polymer on canvas painting titled 'Rock Art'.
Kunda-Beamo, a Yamagi man, was born in Melbourne in 1941. He works with synthetic polymer paint on canvas and has exhibited in group and solo shows in Tweed Heads (New South Wales), Melbourne and Dubai. In 2005 Kunda-Beamo was a finalist in the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards with his painting, Rock Art, which he stated in the exhibition’s catalogue was “inspired by a vision of ancient cave paintings.” He also states in the same catalogue that his work “represents people, elders, spirits, dancers and animals.” (2005, pg. 11).
