A Warlpiri artist who paints for Warlukurlangu Artists in Yuendumu (NT), Lena Brown won the Patron's Award at the Darlington Arts Festival in WA (1990). Her work is represented in major art collections in Australia and overseas.
A Warlpiri speaker, Lena Nungarrayi Brown lives at Yuendumu and sells her work through Warlukurlangu Artists. The Dreamings she paints include Yarringkanyi (Mt Doreen), Wakulyarri (Striped Rock Wallaby) and Janmarda (Bush Onion). In 1990 she won the Patron’s Award at the Darlington Arts Festival in Western Australia. Her work has been shown in Warlukurlangu exhibitions in Darwin and Perth and at Albert Hall in Canberra.
