sketcher, won the prize in the division of 'Pencil drawing, original or copy, by boys not over 12 years of age born in the colony’ at the 1869 South Australian Society of Arts Exhibition. The guinea prize had been contributed by his father, Charles Richard Darton, an accountant at Queenstown.
