Art student, was a pupil of J. S. Bowman in Melbourne. She won the prize awarded to 'art students, not pupils of the Academy: - Certificate of merit,' at the New South Wales Academy exhibition of 1877.

art student, was a pupil of J. S. Bowman in Melbourne. 'Prizes: To art students, not pupils of the Academy: – Certificate of merit – Miss Mafra Jones (pupil of Mr J.S. Bowman, of Melbourne), “M’Millan’s Discovery of Gippsland”, no.137. Miss Rita Jones , who also exhibited in the 1877 NSW Academy exhibition, was presumably Mafra’s sister.
