Margaret Jaye

Margaret Jaye, Interior decorator, is considered to be the first trader to be listed as such in Sydney. Despite this, and even after opening a store in Darlinghurst Road in 1925, little has been written about Jaye as she was not seen to meet a level of artistic integrity and was rarely, if at all, involved in the Sydney art scene. She did, however, write on design and decoration in the mid-1930s issues of Decoration and Glass.
