A botanical painter whose watercolours of flowers are now in the Customs House Museum, Goondiwindi, Queensland. She was lost at sea returning to Ireland when her ship burnt.

They are inscribed verso: 'painted by Miss Fitzgerald in 1846, a cousin of great-grandmother Margaret Young of “Umbercothie” Goondiwindi…She was lost at sea when Barque “Cospatrick” burnt at sea and all lives lost. She was returning to Ireland’.
