watercolourist and schoolteacher, painted a watercolour of John Bunyan (presumably a copy) which was exhibited by Mr C.J. Brammall at the Hobart Town Art Treasures Exhibition in 1862-63. The Misses Garrett, daughters of Alfred, conducted a school in Davey Street, Hobart Town. One of their pupils was Margaret Anderson Hope (1848-1936), a later Tasmanian painter and art teacher.
